Are you looking for a secure networking solution that is easy to deploy, user-friendly, and reliable? Do you want the convenience of integrations with other tools you use? Is access control important to you? If this sounds like your business, Access Server or Cloud Connexa could be an ideal fit for your needs.
To illustrate how OpenVPN equips real-world businesses like yours to navigate secure network connectivity and provide the industry-leading solutions your customers expect, we’re sharing customer success stories like this one from Nancy L., a Program Manager with a GovTech company called Lacuna. Her company built a platform to help cities and local governments manage their transportation. Their mission is to “bridge the gap between cities and private operators to create a holistic, integrated transportation ecosystem that is socially equitable, environmentally friendly, and financially sustainable—both today and into the future.”
We connected with Nancy to learn about Lacuna’s experience with Access Server.

Connecting With Nancy L.
Using Access Server has been a huge asset to Lacuna, both in terms of security and ease of use. In her own words, Nancy says, “Access Server is easy to use, easy to set up, and very reliable. And secure, most importantly!”
Access Server has also integrated well with their distributed, fully-virtual environment. “We use Access Server to help us access AWS Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) which is our production environment,” says Nancy. “[Access Server provides] a nice way for us to securely access AWS remotely. We are a globally distributed company, and everyone works virtually.”
As Lacuna’s needs began to increase, Access Server supported that growth. “We chose Access Server because we’d used OpenVPN’s free service before,” Nancy says, “And we needed additional licenses to support the growing needs of our company.”
When asked why they chose to use an OpenVPN product, Nancy said that compared to other suppliers, “OpenVPN has been an industry standard that’s been around for a long time, and it is one of the most reputable companies.”
We asked Nancy why ease of management is such an important factor for Lacuna. “We currently use OpenVPN [Access Server] to manage access to our production environment,” she says. “Having a tool that [allows us to] easily control who has access, view who has actively used it, and disable access when necessary is very important to our productivity and security.”
Nancy says they purchased Access Server connections particularly for use with Amazon Web Services (AWS) because Lacuna is a cloud-forward company. “We love the fact that we can easily integrate with AWS through their VPC,” she says.
Nancy has nothing but great things to say about her experience with Access Server: “Our OpenVPN subscription has helped our company keep our costs low and our production and infrastructure secure.”
