Set a default DNS suffix

Abstract

Setting a default suffix will enable Windows clients to resolve host names to FQDN names. Only one default suffix can be defined.

Setting a default suffix will enable Windows clients to resolve host names to FQDN names. Only one default suffix can be defined.

To set a default DNS suffix, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Settings > DNS.

  2. Expand the Advanced Configuration section by clicking on it.

  3. Click Edit, which is located in the top right corner.

  4. Enter the DNS suffix in the section with the heading of Default DNS Suffix. For example, corp.net

  5. Click Update.

  6. Check that the details shown in the confirmation dialog box are correct, and click Confirm.
