Tap into fast, easy client distribution with the Access Server self-service user portal.
Once a secure networking solution is deployed the real work – making it available to users – begins. Access Server includes a self-service user portal that streamlines client distribution, giving you time to focus on other business-critical tasks.
Access Server provides web services to run both the Admin Web UI and the Client Web UI. To access the Client Web UI, use either the IP address or the hostname of your Access Server. For example:
The IP address is the external IP address of your server. A custom hostname can be set up using the Admin Web UI and a DNS 'A' record.
Access Server provides bundled clients for Windows and macOS. These bundled clients include connection profiles with the VPN client, OpenVPN Connect, and users can download them from the Client Web UI. They can connect immediately after installing, thanks to the profile configured specifically for your Access Server.
Users can download OpenVPN Connect on mobile devices and easily retrieve a connection profile using the IP address or hostname of your Access Server.
For user with OpenVPN Connect previously installed, they simply add another connection profile:
- Launch OpenVPN Connect.
- Click or tap to add a profile.
- Add it from a URL (Access Server's IP address or domain), or by importing a .ovpn file.
Access Server has three connection profile types: user-locked, auto-login, and server-locked. You use these different types for different user cases. Refer to Understanding Connection Profiles for more information to help you select the best connection profile for your clients and users.
