Assign Secondary User Groups to a User

Abstract

Secondary User Groups can be assigned to a User from the User's detail view page.

Secondary User Groups can be assigned to a User to increase the resource access permission a User can have. For more information, see Assignment of a User to multiple User Groups

To assign Secondary User Groups, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Users > Users.

You will see a table listing all Users.

  2. Click on the hyperlinked Username of the User for whom you want to see details.

Two tabs are visible: Overview and Devices, with the Overview tab's contents displayed. The details of the User will be shown along with the Edit User Details and Suspend User buttons, and the delete trash_icon.png icon in the top right corner.

Password and 2FA drop-down menu items appear below the username.

Information cards showing the Status, Role, Auth Source, User Details, Primary User Group and Secondary User Group are shown.

  3. Click Assign Group in the Secondary User Groups information card. If Groups are already listed, select Assign User to Groups from the vertical_dots_icon.png menu options.

A search bar and a list of selectable User Groups will appear in a pop-up.

    Note

Groups already assigned to the User as Primary or Secondary will be listed as such and cannot be selected.

  4. Optionally, use search to narrow down the list. Select one or more User Groups to assign to the User as their Secondary User Group.

  5. Click Confirm.
