Set the profile distribution mode for Users
You have the choice to either create CloudConnexa Devices for your users and distribute the device profiles to your user's devices using a device management tool or email or some other offline manner, or you can allow CloudConnexa to automatically create devices and profiles when the users authenticate themselves and import profile using the Connect app installed on their devices.
You have the choice to either create CloudConnexa Devices for your users and distribute the device profiles to your user's devices using a device management tool or email or some other offline manner, or you can allow CloudConnexa to automatically create devices and profiles when the users authenticate themselves and import profile using the Connect app installed on their devices.
The mode for Profile Distribution should be set to Automatic to allow users to import OVPN Profiles using their credentials. Automatic is the default. The Profile Distribution mode should be set to Manual if you want to manage devices and generate profiles for them. If Manual distribution is selected, the User must receive the Profile as a .ovpn file from you, and you will need to generate and download the Profile for each User’s Device.
Some reasons you may consider to use manual distribution are:
Strict control over Device creation is needed.
Another system, such as a Device management system, exists that can securely push profiles to User Devices.
CloudConnexa is used exclusively for secure IoT communication, and the Device factory installs profiles.
If you want to change the profile distribution method, follow the steps below:
Navigate to Settings > Users.
Click Edit, which is located in the top right corner.
In the Profile Distribution section, choose either Automatic or Manual.
Click Update.
Check that the details shown in the confirmation dialog box are correct, and click Confirm.
