Shield Policy Limits and Your Plan

Abstract

Understand Shield Policy limits by CloudConnexa plan — Starter (1), Essential (5), Premium (10), Enterprise (100). Covers the usage counter, plan limit dialogs for Owners and Administrators, and what happens to existing policies and filtering after a downgrade.

Overview

Your CloudConnexa plan determines the Shield Policy limit for your WPC. The limit applies only to custom Shield Policies; the Default Policy doesn't count toward it.

CloudConnexa displays notifications as you approach or reach your policy limit. If a plan downgrade puts your WPC over its new limit, existing policies continue filtering, but policy management is restricted until you reduce the number of custom policies.

For information about how custom policies and the Default Policy work, refer to About Shield Policies.

Shield Policy limits

The number of custom Shield Policies you can create depends on your plan:

Plan

Custom Shield Policy limit

Starter

1

Essential

5

Premium

10

Enterprise

100

The Default Policy doesn't count toward these limits.

WPCs that aren't on one of the above plans have a system limit of five custom Shield Policies. The system limit is separate from the limits associated with Starter, Essential, Premium, and Enterprise plans.

For more information about available plans, refer to CloudConnexa Pricing.

When you approach your policy limit

When you reach 80% of your Shield Policy limit, a usage counter appears on the Shield Policies list:

X of Y Shield Policies created in your plan

The available action depends on your role:

  • Owner: Select Upgrade Plan to go to the Edit Subscription page.

  • Administrator: The Approaching Limit dialog displays an option to Contact Owner.

You can continue creating and managing policies until you reach your limit.

For information about the policy list, refer to Browse and Manage Shield Policies.

When you reach your policy limit

At 100% of your Shield Policy limit, you can't create or duplicate another custom Shield Policy. If you attempt to create or duplicate a policy, CloudConnexa displays the Plan limit reached dialog:

You've reached your plan's limit for Shield Policies. Upgrade to add more.

The available actions depend on your role:

  • Owner: Select Upgrade Plan to change the subscription, or Cancel to close the dialog.

  • Administrator: Select Contact Owner to contact your organization's Owner, or Cancel to close the dialog.

If your WPC has reached the system limit rather than a plan limit, the dialog provides Contact Support instead.

For information about duplicating policies, refer to Duplicate a Shield Policy.

Shield Policy limits after a plan downgrade

If you downgrade to a plan with a lower Shield Policy limit and your WPC has more custom policies than the new plan allows, your existing Shield Policies and their filtering settings remain in effect.

However, until the number of custom policies is within the new limit, you can't:

  • Create a new Shield Policy.

  • Duplicate a Shield Policy.

  • Edit an existing Shield Policy.

You can delete custom policies to reduce the number until you're within the new limit.

The Shield Policies page displays a Limit after downgrade banner showing the new limit and your current usage.

For an Owner, the banner directs you to either upgrade the plan or reduce the number of policies:

Limit after downgrade: [limit] Shield Policies. You have [usage] created. Upgrade your plan or reduce the count to continue.

For an Administrator, the banner identifies the organization Owner to contact about upgrading the plan or reducing the policy count.

Important

Deleting a Shield Policy returns its assigned User Groups to the Default Policy. Review the affected User Groups before deleting policies to meet a lower plan limit.

For instructions, refer to Delete a Shield Policy. For more information about the fallback behavior, refer to About the Default Policy.
