Assign User Groups to a Shield Policy

Abstract

Assign one or more User Groups to a CloudConnexa Shield Policy from the policy's Overview tab — search, select, and remove groups, with automatic reassignment from any previous policy. Removing a group from a custom policy returns it to the Default Policy.

Overview

Assign one or more User Groups to a Shield Policy to apply that policy's Domain Filtering and Traffic Filtering settings to those groups.

Each User Group is assigned to exactly one policy. If you assign a group that's already assigned to another policy, CloudConnexa moves the group to the new policy when you save your changes.

For more information about how Shield Policies apply to User Groups and users, refer to About Shield Policies.

Before you begin

Open the Shield Policy you want to configure, then select the Overview tab. For instructions, refer to Create or Edit a Shield Policy.

Assign User Groups

  1. On the Overview tab, select Assign user groups.

  2. Search for User Groups.

    Tip

You can assign any number of User Groups to a Shield Policy.

  3. Select the User Groups you want to assign.

    • The current policy for each User Group appears next to its name.

  4. If you select a User Group that's assigned to another policy, review the reassignment message.

    • Saving the policy moves the selected User Group from its current policy to this one.

  5. To change your selection, remove an individual group or select the Clear all icon.

    Tip

When you remove a User Group from a custom Shield Policy without assigning it to another policy, the group returns to the Default Policy.

  6. Select Save changes.

    • CloudConnexa applies the complete set of User Group assignments in one operation.

Verify User Group assignments

After saving, return to the Shield Policies list to view the number of User Groups assigned to each policy.

You can also view policy assignments from the User Group. Refer to View policies for a User Group.
