What Is Peer-To-Peer?
In a Peer-to-Peer network, “peers” are computers that connect directly to other computers to share files over the internet. Peer-to-peer sharing utilizes a software program to locate the desired file(s) on a different computer. Because these files are found on computers instead of servers, they are called peers.
