What Is BitTorrent?
BitTorrent is a communication protocol for peer-to-peer file sharing which is used to distribute data and electronic files over the Internet.
The software programs that are used to download files via the peer-to-peer BitTorrent protocol are called BitTorrent clients. While there are a few legitimate uses for BitTorrenting, the simple reality is that the primary use of BitTorrenting is to illegally download copyrighted, trademarked, and patented materials.
