How to Install OpenVPN Connect on Windows
Overview
Install OpenVPN Connect on Windows for use with OpenVPN servers. This applies to the OpenVPN open-source project and other VPN services using the OpenVPN protocol.
Prerequisites
A Windows PC running a supported version of Windows.
Access to an OpenVPN server or a connection profile from a VPN provider using the OpenVPN protocol.
A valid VPN configuration file or connection URL.
Installation steps
Download and install OpenVPN Connect:
Visit the OpenVPN Connect section on the OpenVPN website.
Download the Windows installer.
Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
Open the OpenVPN Connect app:
Once the installation is complete, launch the OpenVPN Connect app.
Review and agree to the data usage policy.
Import a VPN profile:
After opening the app, you can import your VPN profile in one of the following ways:
Import from a file: If you have a
.ovpn
profile file, click File and browse to the location of the profile on your computer.Import from a URL: If your VPN provider provides a connection URL, select URL and enter the URL to import the profile.
Import from a VPN provider: Some VPN providers offer direct integration, allowing you to import profiles through their apps or services.
Connect to the VPN:
Once the profile is imported, select it and click Connect.
OpenVPN Connect may prompt you to allow changes to your system to create the VPN connection. Click Yes.
Once connected, the VPN status shows as active.

Before you begin
Find the invitation email sent by your CloudConnexa administrator. This email includes your invitation to join CloudConnexa and your CloudID, Username, and Temporary Password. If you don't have that email, ask your CloudConnexa administrator for help.
Install the app and connect to your CloudConnexa
To connect to your CloudConnexa account, follow these steps:
Download the OpenVPN Connect app from our website or the link in your invitation email.
Wait until the download completes, then open it.
Run the OpenVPN Connect setup wizard.
Agree to the EULA and install.
When prompted, click Yes to approve the privilege escalation request.
Click Finish when the installation completes.
From your system tray, click the OpenVPN Connect icon to launch the app.
Click to add a new profile.
On the Import Profile window, select URL and enter the CloudID from your invitation email.
Enter your Username and Temporary password from your invitation email.
At the prompt, enter a new password and confirm it.
Accept the Terms of Service and click Change Password.
Select your desired region.
Click Connect.

Before you begin
Ensure you have a username and password to connect to Access Server. If you don't have one, contact your Access Server administrator.
Install the app from the Client Web UI and connect to Access Server
Open a browser and navigate to your Access Server Client Web UI.
Sign in with your username and password.
Click on the Windows icon.
Wait until the download completes, then open it.
Run the OpenVPN Connect setup wizard.
Agree to the EULA and install.
When prompted, click Yes to approve the privilege escalation request.
Click Finish when the installation completes.
From your system tray, click the OpenVPN Connect icon to launch the app.
Click on your profile to connect to Access Server.
Tip
The URL for your Client Web UI is the hostname or IP address of your Access Server. Ask your administrator for help if you don't have that.
