Import a Profile
You must import a connection profile to connect to a server with OpenVPN Connect. You can import from a URL or a file downloaded to your device.
You can import any number of profiles using these steps.
If your VPN provider supports this option, you can import a profile directly from the server.
Click or tap the menu.
Click or tap My Profiles.
Click or tap the Add icon.
The Import Profile screen displays.
In the URL field, enter the URL for your VPN server and click or tap Continue.
The browser opens the server page to obtain the connection profile.
Enter your authentication credentials for the authentication method: Basic Authentication, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), or SAML Authentication.
The Import Profile confirmation dialog appears.
Click Confirm.
The new profile is now displayed in your app as the main profile.
To establish a connection to a server, you can import a connection profile file into OpenVPN Connect by browsing for the file, dragging and dropping it, or double-clicking on it. Follow the steps below for the process of your choice.
Steps
Obtain the .ovpn file from the VPN server or provider.
Save it to a location on your device.
Launch OpenVPN Connect.
Tap or click to open the Menu.
Tap or click My Profiles.
Tap or click the add icon.
The Import Profile screen displays.
Tap or click the Upload File button.
Navigate to the .ovpn file and upload.
The Import Profile confirmation dialog appears.
Tap or click OK.
The new profile will appear in your app and become the main profile.
Drag and drop (Windows and macOS)
Obtain the .ovpn file from the VPN server or provider.
Save it to a location on your device.
Launch OpenVPN Connect.
Drag and drop your .ovpn profile to any screen in the app
The Import Profile confirmation dialog displays.
Tap or click OK.
The new profile will appear in your app and become the main profile.
Double-click on .ovpn file (Windows and macOS)
Obtain the .ovpn file from the VPN server or provider.
Save it to a location on your device.
Double-click on the file.
The Import Profile confirmation dialog appears.
Click OK.
The new profile will appear in yoiur app and become the main profile.
