How Do I Connect to the VPN Service?

Abstract

OpenVPN doesn't provide personal VPN services. This FAQ explains more.

Question: I purchased some licenses on your website and would like instructions on connecting to your VPN service. Can you provide me with these instructions?

Answer:

The software subscription license you purchased through our Access Server Portal is designed to unlock a specific number of connections on a server that you manage yourself. This license doesn't grant access to any external or hosted VPN services.

If you intend to purchase a subscription for a hosted VPN service, here are your options:

  1. CloudConnexa: Our hosted VPN service lets businesses securely connect offices and remote employees. We fully manage CloudConnexa, so you don’t need to set up or manage servers.

  2. Personal Use with DigitalOcean: If you’re looking for a personal VPN setup similar to our previous Private Tunnel service, you can use CloudConnexa to create an internet egress using DigitalOcean. This will secure your internet traffic and provide a personal VPN gateway.

Question: What if I purchased the software subscription license by mistake?

Answer:

If you accidentally bought a software subscription license, you can request a refund through our support ticket system. Please provide the details of your purchase and explain that you intended to buy access to a hosted VPN service instead.

Question: What is the difference between a subscription license for OpenVPN Access Server and a hosted VPN service?

Answer:

An Access Server subscription license unlocks a number of connections on a server you install and manage. On the other hand, we fully manage a hosted VPN service like CloudConnexa, meaning you don’t have to set up or manage any servers—just connect to our existing infrastructure.
