Tutorial: Download OpenVPN Connect and Connection Profiles from the Client Web UI
Access Server's Client Web UI makes it easy for end users to download the OpenVPN Connect client or connection profiles to connect to the VPN server.
Overview
You can download connection profiles and OpenVPN Connect apps from the Client Web UI of your Access Server.
An installed Access Server.
Configured users.
Client Web UI access.
Users can sign in to the Client Web UI for your Access Server to download pre-configured OpenVPN Connect apps. They include the connection profile for the user to connect to the server when they install and launch the app.
Sign in to the Client Web UI (your server's IP address or hostname) with valid user credentials.
Click Download to install OpenVPN Connect as automatically detected for your OS. (Other platforms are available from the drop-down box, "For other platforms.")
Install the software, open it, and connect with valid user credentials.
Users can sign in to the Client Web UI for your Access Server to download connection profiles. You can use these profiles to connect with other VPN clients or an already installed OpenVPN Connect app:
Sign in to the Client Web UI (your server's IP address or hostname) with valid user credentials.
For Access Server 2.14.0 and newer: Click
Connection Profile where it states, "Download your profile below."
To allow server-locked profiles:
Sign in to the Admin Web UI.
Click Web Services.
The Admin Web Server tab displays.
Click the Client Web Server tab.
Under Client web UI settings, check the box for Server-locked profiles next to Profile availability.
Tip
If you can't check the box, allow the setting on VPN Server > Security / Encryption by setting Allow VPN connections without client certificates (server-locked v2) to On.
Click Save and Restart.
To allow auto-login for a user:
Sign in to the Admin Web UI.
Click Users.
Click the username or edit icon for the desired user.
Set Allow Auto-login to Enabled.
Click Save and Restart.
To allow auto-login for a group:
Sign in to the Admin Web UI.
Click Groups.
Click the group name or edit icon for the desired group.
Set Allow Auto-login to Enabled.
