Glossary of Key Terms in Access Server Documentation
Glossary
We use the following terms in the Access Server knowledge base:
- Access Server
The VPN server software, hosted on a Linux operating system.
- Access Server portal
The portal on the OpenVPN website where you manage your subscriptions, billing, support and can find Access Server installation instructions.
- Admin Web UI
Access Server's web server used by the administrator to configure the VPN server.
- client
A device running OpenVPN client software used to connect to Access Server.
- Client Web UI
Access Server's web server used by clients to download OpenVPN Connect and configuration profiles.
- connection profile
A file with the information for a VPN client to securely connect to Access Server.
- OpenVPN Connect
The VPN client app to connect to Access Server.
- user
An individual attempting remote access to private network resources via the public internet.
- user credentials
A username and password used to authenticate a user.
