Users and groups

With the Admin Web UI, you can:

  • Create users and groups.

  • Assign authentication methods.

  • Add or remove credentials.

  • Configure subnetwork access.

  • Manage privileges.

Add and edit users and admins

The following provides an overview of adding users and groups and managing credentials.

To add a user:

  1. Sign in to the Admin Web UI.

  2. Click User Management > User Permissions.

  3. Click the New Username text box on the table's last row.

  4. Enter the desired username for the new account.

  5. Configure the settings for the new user using the checkboxes:

    • Check Admin to promote the user to an admin.

    • Check Allow Auto-login to allow downloading and using an auto-login profile.

    • Check Deny Access to prevent the user from gaining access to the server.

    • Check Delete to remove the user profile from Access Server.

  6. Enter a password under More Settings > Local Password.

Once you've set users up with accounts, you can create more granular user access control. For details about the options available, refer to the user manual: More Settings.

Add and edit groups

You can create Access Server groups from the Admin Web UI. To create a new group:

  1. Sign in to the Admin Web UI.

  2. Click User Management > Group Permissions.

  3. Click the New Group text box on the table's last row.

  4. Enter the desired name for the new group.

  5. Configure the settings for the new group using the checkboxes:

    • check Admin to promote any user assigned to the group to an admin.

    • Check Allow Auto-login to allow any user assigned to the group to download and use an auto-login profile.

    • Check Deny Access to prevent any user assigned to the group from gaining access to the server.

    • Check Delete to remove the group from Access Server.

You can now choose the new group from the group drop-down for each user under User Permissions.

Concurrent users and licenses

Access Server allows up to two concurrent users to connect to the server for free. That way, you can thoroughly test Access Server for your specific needs and network. When ready, you can purchase and activate more connections.
