How Can I Migrate Licenses for Access Server?

Migrating your OpenVPN Access Server license depends on your license type:
If you have a subscription license, you can activate it on one or many servers. Simply copy it from the Access Server Portal and activate it from the Admin Web UI.
If you have a fixed license, it can't be moved from a server once you've activated it. If you need a reissued license, you can contact us ahead of time for help. We recommend you reach out two weeks before your scheduled migration. When we reissue a license key, the old installation will still function for two weeks on the old fixed license key while you activate the reissued key on your new server.
If you have an AWS license, these are purchased through the AWS marketplace in tiered connection amounts. If you create an AMI image from one of your Access Server EC2 instances, it will also be licensed, sharing the connection from the original tiered amount. The license is tied to the instance metadata.
