Activate two-factor authentication on VPN connection

An administrator can enable two-factor authentication for their users to add an additional layer of identity verification. Once two-factor authentication is enabled, the administrator can configure a user group to authenticate VPN connections with a profile and a password.

Once the group two-factor authentication feature is enabled, each user must follow these steps to sign in with the OpenVPN Connect app and an authenticator application code:

  1. Toggle the OpenVPN Cloud profile connection to on.
  2. Enter your username and password and click Next.
  3. Enter the code from your authenticator application.
    1. Note that if the administrator has enabled the Allow Trusted Devicesfeature, you can choose to trust your device to bypass two-factor authentication for 30 days.
