# Create a Proxy Configuration

> **Important**
>
> Ensure you have an existing proxy server. You'll need the details of the server and user authentication.
>
> Each profile can have one proxy assigned.

To add a proxy configuration:

1. Launch OpenVPN Connect.
2. Top or click the **menu** icon.
3. Click **Proxies**.
4. Click **Add**.
5. Enter the details for your proxy:
   - The **Proxy Friendly Name**.
   - The **Proxy Hostname or IP**.
   - The **Port**.
   - The **Username**.
   - The **Password**.
   - And whether to **use basic authentication**.
6. Click **Save**.

You can now [apply your proxy](https://openvpn.net/connect-docs/apply-proxy.md) to a connection profile.
