# Connect to VPN

What do you need to connect to your VPN? Use the following to make a connection to your VPN server:

1. OpenVPN Connect installed for [your device](https://openvpn.net/connect-docs/operating-systems.md).
2. An imported [connection profile](https://openvpn.net/connect-docs/connection-profiles.md).

That's it. You can get connected:

1. Launch OpenVPN Connect.
2. Tap or click on **Switch Profile** to select the desired profile.

   > **Tip**
   >
   > This profile becomes the main profile on the **Home** screen.
3. Click **Connect**.
4. If prompted, enter credentials for [authentication](https://openvpn.net/connect-docs/authentication.md).
   - You're connected, and OpenVPN Connect displays connection statistics.

> **Important**
>
> **OpenVPN Connect doesn't provide VPN service**
>
> OpenVPN Connect works with all OpenVPN protocol-compatible VPN servers or services but **doesn't offer a built-in VPN service**. Instead, it's the way you connect with your VPN service through a [connection profile](https://openvpn.net/connect-docs/connection-profiles.md).
