# Subversion Repository (decommissioned)

The OpenVPN Subversion (SVN) server at `svn.openvpn.net` is decommissioned and no longer available. OpenVPN development, including all current and past release branches, is on GitHub:

- [github.com/OpenVPN/openvpn](https://github.com/OpenVPN/openvpn)

If you have bookmarks, scripts, or build pipelines that point to `svn.openvpn.net`, update them to use the GitHub repository.

## Get the source code

Clone the repository:

```
git clone https://github.com/OpenVPN/openvpn.git
cd openvpn
```

To build from source, follow the instructions in the repository's `INSTALL` file.

## Find older release branches

The code that was in the old SVN trunk and branches (such as OpenVPN 2.0.x and 2.1) is part of the Git history. To list the available release branches:

```
git branch -r
```

To switch to an older release branch, such as 2.1:

```
git checkout release/2.1
```

## View revision history

Use `git log` in place of `svn log -v`:

```
git log --stat
```
