# Reset 2FA for a User

If the User loses the device used for two-factor authentication (2FA), changes his 2FA device, or cannot access their 2FA method, you will need to reset that User's 2FA.

> **Note**
>
> 2FA should be enabled (unavailable when SAML is being used for authentication), and the User's Account Status should be **Active**. Refer to [Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)](https://openvpn.net/cloud-docs/owner/settings/settings---user-authentication/set-two-factor-authentication--2fa--for-users.md). If **Allow Trusted Devices** is enabled for 2FA, the list of trusted devices should also be cleared. Refer to [Clear devices for which 2FA is being skipped for a User](https://openvpn.net/cloud-docs/owner/users/users---users/clear-devices-for-which-2fa-is-being-skipped-for-a-user.md).

To reset a User's 2FA, follow the steps below:

1. Sign in to your WPC's Administration Portal at your **Cloud ID** address (for example, `yourcompany.openvpn.com`).
2. Navigate to **Users \> Users**.
3. Click on the icon on the row for the User whose 2FA you want to reset.
4. Select **Reset 2FA** from the drop-down menu.
5. Click **Confirm** in the dialog box.
