# Change the Role of a User to Administrator

A User needs administrative rights to configure the WPC, add Users, and carry out activities similar to the Owner except for managing the subscription. You must change the User's Role to provide administrative rights to an active User.

To promote a User to an Admin, follow the steps to [Edit a User's Account Details](https://openvpn.net/cloud-docs/owner/users/users---users/edit-a-user-s-account-details.md). For the **Role** field, change the value from **Member** to **Admin**.
