# Set DNS Records

CloudConnexa allows you to define DNS records for both public and private domains. When a domain matches a configured record, CloudConnexa's proxy DNS servers use that record for resolution instead of forwarding the request to upstream DNS servers.

## Add a DNS record

To add a DNS record, follow the steps below:

1. Sign in to your WPC's Administration Portal at your **Cloud ID** address (for example, `yourcompany.openvpn.com`).
2. Navigate to **Settings → DNS**.
3. Select the **DNS Records** tab.
4. Select **Add Record**.
5. Enter the following:
   - Domain name.
   - (Optional) Description.
   - One or more IP addresses (IPv4 and/or IPv6, depending on your configuration).
6. Click **Add DNS Record**.

> **Important**
>
> **Notes**
>
> - DNS records override upstream DNS resolution for matching domains.
> - Ensure that configured IP addresses align with your selected **IP Allocation Versions**.
> - Use DNS records to control resolution for internal services or override public DNS when needed.
