Configuring Your VPN Network in Access Server

Abstract

The VPN Network page allows you to configure options like IP address networks, routing, split tunneling, and DNS settings.

You can easily configure essential network options in the Admin Web UI. These include dynamic or static IP address assignments, routing or Network Address Translation (NAT), split tunneling, and DNS settings. This guide provides an introductory overview of these settings to help you get started.

Network Settings

Define the server's hostname or IP address, select which interfaces the VPN server should listen on, and choose the transport protocol (TCP or UDP).

Subnets

Configure dynamic and static IP address pools for VPN clients, including group-based address pools for finer control.

Clustering & Failover

Set up clustering for high availability or configure failover options to ensure redundancy and resilience.

Security / Encryption

Control TLS settings, encryption ciphers, and key renegotiation intervals to manage VPN tunnel security.

Data Channel Offload (DCO)

Enable OpenVPN DCO to improve VPN performance by offloading encryption tasks to the kernel.

Advanced

Adjust advanced settings like allowing multiple connections per user, setting MTU size, supporting older clients, and managing legacy Windows networking protocols (e.g., NetBIOS).
