I didn’t set it because I don’t
want all the traffic go through the VPN connection just that ones whiches must.
Actually after I run the bridge-start script I added manually the earlyer
default route datas and everything seems good. I just really don’t understand
why don’t the sripct modify the route table why overwrite it. My main problem
is I get this default route data from my ISP when the system comes up the ADSL
connection with the FC default pppoe-start script. It would be great if it changes
for some reason I don’t have to change the route table manually. As I’m not a „linux
guru” don’t really know srcipts but also tried to write the „route add default
gw ISPs router” to the end of script but as the routeing table only changes
after a few secs it will overwrite it too. So I must add the new route content
every time I restart openvpn or server or network…

Subject: Re: [Openvpn-users] start-bridge script overwrites route table
I don't suppose you have the redirect-gateway option set in
the configuration do you, as that option does exactly what you are talking
well a little addition:
I found the route table changes
only 1-2 secs after the script finished. I’ve checked the bridge-start srcipt
and run the commands one by one to check which command changes the route table.
However if I run the script’s commands one by one finally the route table
doesn’t changes! Although now the eth0 IP address disappear from the ifconfig’s
reason… interesting… I got 2 different problem when I run the commands from
script and one by one. J
I’ve tried to set up an openvpn server on a FC7 linux server
in bridging mode. I’ve read the howtos and examples and so on but may be I
don’t really understand the real point of it. I’ve set up everithing but the
problem seems are not in the configuration files because problems starting when
I start bridge-start script as it overwrites the route table and sets the
default gateway to the br0 interface. Therefore every traffic which earlyer
went to the ppp0 interface (which was the def gateway) and to the internet now
goes to the br0 interface and doesn’t reach the internet. Is this normal?
Could somebody pls give me some hint what did I not understand?
very thanks and
