Well, there might exist many possibilities for your problem. Maybe

a) the hosts on your internal don't know how to route the traffic to you
   VPN systems on 10.8.0.1 (so they need an additional route or you
   default router needs this knownledge).

b) there is a firewall in between

c) ip forwarding is not enabled on the OpenVPN server

d) ....
