In case anyone else runs into this...

I switched to a 1024 bit key and cert after a few attempts with
different 2048 bit keys/certs failed.  Not sure if this is an xca issue
(I used it to create the keys/certs) or not, but openssl would verify
them as OK.  Anyway, it's working now.
