In order to establish the connection you must first be able to reach your VPN server, which should be exposed by (or exist on) the firewall.  With ICMP permitted, can you ping your OpenVPN server?

I'm traying to run a "tap vpn" using openvpn-2.0.9 over a linux distribution.
I'm sure that the configuration is ok, but when I start de server It give me the following message:
Wed May 23 18:45:13 2007 UDPv4 link local (bound):[undef]:1194
Wed May 23 18:45:13 2007 UDPv4 link remote:[undef]
And when I start de client It give me the following message:
Wed May 23 18:50:13 2007 us=180897 read UDPv4 [EHOSTUNREACH]: No route to host (code=113)
My configuration is a simple bridging configuration connecting a server and client. Any ideas?
