[Openvpn-users] openvpn slow down

  • Subject: [Openvpn-users] openvpn slow down

Hi,

I use openVPN since 10 months, and I'm satisfied with it:)
But now I have a problem:
If I have "route" lines in the config, the ping very slow, not only
with the private IP, but with the remote public IP too. The response
time around 800 ms.
When I stop the openvpn, or I remove the "route" lines from config,
the network speed is normal, the ping response time remains under 100
ms.

What can I do?

My config:

port 5011
secret /etc/openvpn/secret.key
ifconfig 192.168.16.100 255.255.255.0
remote xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
# route 192.168.232.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.16.254
# ^ this line causes the problem. the subnet is behind the remote

route-delay 10
dev tap1
#tap-sleep 1
# fragment 1400
ifconfig-nowarn
ping 10
comp-lzo
comp-noadapt
verb 4
