the following error, cant open dh1024.pem, but it works fine when i connect via the gui version. Any idea whats wrong there?

You are probably starting openvpn from another directory than the config dir, so OpenVPN can't find the requested file.

Use fully qualified paths in your config file instead like:
dh "c:\\program files\\openvpn\\config\\sample-keys\\dh1024.pem"

so i rightclick the vpngui>cserver>connect after thats connected or "activated" then clients can join.

It sounds like you havn't really started the openvpn service. Instead you starting OpenVPN as a normal process when you click "Connect" from the GUI.

If you want to control the service (start/stop) from OpenVPN GUI, you need to change the following reg value to "1", and restart the GUI.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\OpenVPN-GUI\allow_service

If you want OpenVPN to start at boot-time (with the service), goto ControlPanel->Administrative Tools->Services and configure the openvpn service to start automatically.
