[Openvpn-users] Possible routing problem

  • Subject: [Openvpn-users] Possible routing problem

Hi!

I'm trying to reach a vpn client from an internal workstation. The setup:

Linux OpenVPN server, LAN address 192.168.0.72, routed TUN address 10.2.1.1
Windows XP OpenVPN client "B", VPN address 10.2.1.14
Windows XP OpenVPN client "A", VPN address 10.2.1.6
Windows XP LAN Workstation (well, technically virtual workstation on
OpenVPN server), 192.168.0.55

From the OpenVPN server, I can ping any of the above. Some routing and
address output:
10.2.1.2 dev tun0 proto kernel scope link src 10.2.1.1
192.168.20.0/24 dev vmnet8 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.20.1
10.2.1.0/24 via 10.2.1.2 dev tun0
192.168.0.0/24 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.0.71
192.168.0.0/24 dev br1 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.0.72
192.168.30.0/24 dev vmnet1 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.30.1
default via 192.168.0.1 dev eth0

8: tun0: <POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST,NOARP,UP,10000> mtu 1500 qdisc
pfifo_fast qlen 100
    link/[65534]
    inet 10.2.1.1 peer 10.2.1.2/32 scope global tun0

BTW - I don't know what that "peer 10.2.1.2" means - I can't ping it
from anywhere.

On the virtual workstation, I have executed some routing commands, like,
"route add 10.2.1.1 mask 255.255.255.255 192.168.0.72". The routing
table now shows:
Active Routes:
