[Openvpn-users] OVPN & Bandwidth

  • Subject: [Openvpn-users] OVPN & Bandwidth

I have an OpenVPN running on a single OpenBSD machine in bridge mode (p4
512mb 1nic).
At any one time I may have 6-10 remote users connecting via Internet to
shares, accessing Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, or transferring a few
low-res jpegs (1-2mb).

The local LAN is connected by T1, a remote also T1, and others via, cable,
dsl, wireless, etc.

Am I likely to see any network degradation on the local T1 at 6-10
simultaneous users not really doing too much, doing a lot, etc.?

Does openvpn have low bandwidth requirements when clients are connected, but
otherwise idle?

How is load balancing, throttling users, etc. achieved.

Thanks,
s7
