Tried the following... Everything OK. Can't ping but using WindoseXP explorer I can navigate to the "missing" computer. Stan -----Original Message----- From: Lonnie Abelbeck [mailto:lonnie@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, February 09, 2007 8:36 AM To: satlewis@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Can't ping computer on subnet of Client (long) Stan, It could just be the ICMP states in the 'cheap' routers. Since ICMP has no 'port' like udp/tcp, the router can only map the local address, so if you ping the same destination outbound through the router, from two different IP address, the second IP ping will fail until the (60 second?) ICMP mapping timeout occurs in the router. Try your test more slowly, maybe everything is actually working. Lonnie -- No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
