[Openvpn-users] tuning Open VPN for performace

I am new to openVPN and have set up a static link over business class cable modems to link our two offices. 

This is a routed VPN connection

 We use Time Warner Business Class with 2Mbit down and 768Kbit up on both sides.  Both ends of the connection are on the same network but there are 8 hops between the two end ips

Here are our stats:

OpenVPN 2.06 on Gentoo servers

UDP/ Tun

I think the MTU is default 1500

Can anyone give me any advice on tweaks to the OpenVPN setting that will help us squeeze more performance out of the VPN.  There are only two machines here and it is not used for road warriors.  

We have tc doing QOS and that works well.
