Unfortunately the web interface provided by Sourceforge to manage project mailing lists is almost useless for configuring spam filtering settings. I looked through the various options, and unless I'm missing something, I did not notice any 'only allow list users to post' settings. It certainly was there a while back, but it seems to be missing now. At this point, I'm strongly considering moving openvpn-users, openvpn-devel, and openvpn-announce off of sourceforge and onto one of the openvpn.net servers. This would give myself and the OpenVPN project full control of the mailing lists, and a much better ability to keep the lists spam-free.
