I spent a lot of time testing openvpn on Win XP as power user. I am not able to do route add (neither pull from linux server nor from client config). I found two statements for OpenVPN 2.1_rc1 -- released on 2006.10.31: 1. TAP-Win32 adapter can now be opened from non-administrator mode. 2. It includes an improved TAP-Win32 driver that allows OpenVPN to open the TAP interface even when OpenVPN is running without admin privs. This means that normal users can now run OpenVPN without using the service wrapper. This still has one major drawback though; You still need admin privs to add routes to the system so if you are depending on pushing routes to the client, you are out of luck. Are the aboves rights? Will it be possible to do routing on win machines without admin privileges? (Explanations: I use ikey 2032 with certificates, so I cannot use windows service for starting openvpn, there is no way to safely say password to the service. Users cannot log as admin to windows machines, they must not know admin passwd.) MiG. -- Odchozi zprava neobsahuje viry. Zkontrolovano AVG.
