[Openvpn-users] encrypted packets on en0 vs tun0?

Hi,

I'm very new to configuring/using OpenVPN but I know have OpenVPN2 running on my home Mac OS X 10.3.9 Mac Mini (as server) and on my Powerbook.  I connect to the home router via a WiFi connection and I have enabled redirect-gateway on the server and when I connect with the client and do a traceroute, I see that the route includes the VPN IP address that I assigned the Powerbook.  I wanted to look at the traffic so I used Ethereal to inspect packets.  I noticed the en0 was encrypted but that the traffic on tun0 was not.  Is this correct?  If I were at a public hotspot, would only the traffic coming off of en0 be visible to WiFi snoops?

sorry if this question is not clear...

thanks

Jerry
