Hi all: I just started using openvpn a few weeks ago, and am still learning. But I think I know how to answer this one: Nauleau / Fred: You don't have to bridge openvpn to your network. You can continue to use the more efficient tun device. To let the clients see each other, use the "client-to-client" option in the server config. Man openvpn for details.
