Use PAM or a script. But be aware that using a script is less secure
than using a plugin. I'm planning on writing a plugin to authenticate
using ldap. It will authenticate from OpenLDAP and other ldap
implementations, but right know i don't have any usable code. Keep an
eye on http://sourceforge.net/projects/auth-ldap, for more info.
