[Openvpn-users] Newbie trying to understand IP address range requirements

I need to make an OpenVPN connection between computers on two different LANs.  Both LANs are currently using the 192.168.1.0/24 address range.  Is the need to have different address ranges for the two LANs satisfied by simply changing one of them to the 192.168.0.0/24 address range, or do I need to use a completely different range of private IP addresses for one of the LANs?

Thanks for your patience.

Gerry
