I've had my lists turned off for a while so
hopefully I'm not re-asking a question that has already been
answered.
I have a service tech (and his Dell Laptop) with XP
SP2 and it WAS running OpenVPN when it left the building a month
ago.
Now he can't connect. So, a little
investigation and it turns out the TAP-32 won't work. I uninstalled
OpenVPN completely and reinstalled. During install I get a message in the
install log that the TAP32install.exe returned a "2" (failed). This
happens AFTER the window pops up about unsigned drivers which I say OK
to.
I went to DOS and uninstalled and re-installed the
TAP device hoping that I would get more info in the DOS box. It creates
the device, pops up the window about unsigned drivers, and then it fails.
The only message is that install.exe failed.
It is running on all of our other laptops just
fine. Most are running XP SP2.
Firewall(s) are OFF, anti-virus is OFF, Pest Patrol
is OFF. The user is an administrator (although I tried it logged in as
ADMINISTRATOR and failed too).
If anybody wants more info, just ask.
Oh -- I even tried the WINSOCK fix program just in
case. No help.
