Your problem description doesn't really match others that winsockfix
have taken care of but it might be worth giving a shot anyway.
I did that. No difference. By the way, I updated to using openvpn 2.0.4.

I am all ears if you want to use me as an experiment to try and find
this bug. I can install debug versions and produce logs that you can
analize and digest if you want. Just let me know what you need from me.
Well, that's great if I only had some more tips to give, but I houestly
feel a little lost in this case. I havn't even looked at the TAP-Win32
driver source and even if I had, I don't think that's where the problem
is. It seems more to me like a problem with the installation of the TAP
driver, and as James has stated in several posts, the installation of a
driver is not done by the driver itself, it is done by windows so if the
installation goes wrong there is not much we can do about it.
So, I'm sorry to say but I don't have many more tips to give, except for
the tip you never want to hear -- A reinstall of Windows would probably
sovle it!
Hopefully someone else have some good ideas...
Should I move this problem to the development list?
No, I still think it is a user problem.
