Thanks patrick
does it matter where i put this in the script file?
ie. does the "up /etc/openvpn/bridge-start"
have to be the first uncommented line in the script file?
and "down /etc/openvpn/bridge-stop"
have to be the last line in the file?
Also, do I need to chmod both script files to 755 for them to work?
