[Openvpn-users] Bridging and multicast

Hi-

I'm thinking that this is an issue with iTunes, and not openvpn, but I'm not entirely sure so I wanted to ping the list and see if anyone else has succeeded with a similar setup.

I've got openvpn setup between my Mac (Tiger) and my Linux box (2.6), with openvpn-2.0, in bridge mode. Everything seems to be working correctly thanks to the excellent documentation and samples.

Multicast *seems* to be travelling across the bridge, I can see mt-daapd's Rendezvous multicast packets when tcpdump'ing the tap interface on my Mac.

In particular:
14:44:33.097687 IP 10.69.69.1.5353 > 224.0.0.251.5353: 0*- [0q] 10/0/0 (Cache flush) A 10.69.69.1,[|domain]

The Mac sends Rendezvous over the ethernet and wireless devices, but doesn't seem to be sending over the tap device (from tcpdump on the Mac or the Linux box.) Does this mean it's not listening for Rendezvous on the tap device?

The firewall is setup to pass everything over tun devices, tap devices and bridge devices.

Has anyone gotten this to work- I'm happy to include my configs if this may be a configuration issue...

Thanks,
Ed
