[Openvpn-users] Problem with email server

  • Subject: [Openvpn-users] Problem with email server

Hello,

This is my first post and please disculpe me if this problem has been
questioned before, but searching in the mail list archives I have'nt found
the solution...

Well, I have this configuration:

- 2 LAN connected with a routed configuration of OpenVPN v.2, LAN1 has the
openvpn server configured with a multi-client server and LAN2 is a openvpn
client.

The connectivity works perfectly, every machine on LAN1 can connect to any
machine of LAN2 and viceversa, all is ok.

But there is one thing that doesn't work:

- I can't connect to the port 25 of my smtp server on LAN1 from the gateway
of LAN2 (the gateway of LAN2 is who runs the openvpn client). When I try to
telnet port 25 of smtp server from the openvpn client the conections gets closed inmediatly.

I got perplexed because I can telnet to port 25 from a machine of lan2
(behind the gateway/openvpn client)... and only is the port 25, all the
other services works perfectly.

I have tried to deactivate any firewall rules but the behavior is the same.

Both the openvpn server and openvpn client are running under Debian
GNU/Linux (testing).

Thanks :)
