That sounds great. Also, although I can read the instructions it would be
great if I could get some direction from here. My first step is to install
openVPN on the mandrake box, but experience has shown that most linux
installs are less than straight forward, so I'll likely be asking more
questions. :)

Well, I am expecting you to be pleasantly surprised. I read the instructions, followed them, and had OpenVPN installed on my linux server, and connected to a Windows client within an hour.


In fact, my experience is that, in the long term, OpenVPN is significantly easier to get working on linux than it is on Windows. I rationalise this as being due to Windows' networking weaknesses, but it could well be the weakness of my understanding of Windows' networking.
