[Openvpn-users] No ARP via tunnel interfaces

Hi list,

I have set up OpenVPN successfully (at least the connection is 
established according to the logs), but ARP fails, so that one end 
cannot see the MAC address of the other end.

Here is my setup:

Net                 Gateway                                Roadwarrior
192.168.x.y -- br0 192.168.x.1 -- tap0 ==== tap0 192.18.x.200

The encrypted connection is established and the Gateway pushes the 
Roadwarrior's IP correctly. The firewalls on both sides allow all 
traffic over tap+ interfaces, as well as br0 (internal nic).
Each tap0 interface on either side is up and has a MAC address, but ARP 
from both sides fails. they cannot see each other's MAC addresses.
Thus ping and all other traffic fails.

I use the debian package version 1.99+2.beta19-1 on both sides and the 
server and client config for 2.0 version.

How to debug?
