Hi Mathias,
I just installed the latest version of OpenVPN GUI and I like the
way the interface is done. If you allow me on comment though I would say
that I have a problem with the "change password" feature. I'm just in the
process of implementing a complete OpenVPN solution at the office and
since
we have a lot of intellectual property, I managed to have the management
agree that people would have to enter a password to use the VPN. We used
to
use PPTP with the Microsoft VPN interface and everyone was using the "save
password" feature defeating the purpose of security to my own opinion.
We had a couple of cases were people had their laptop stolen and I
always freak out knowing that they saved their password even though we
usually get notified on time to disable the account.
I love the openvpn solution forcing the user to enter a password. I
will have to implement another GUI because and I can't have a user change
is
password to a blank one.
Am I the only one with this opinion?
Cheers,
Davis Goodman

Subject: [Openvpn-users] OpenVPN GUI - now with change password feature
OpenVPN GUI for Windows v1.0-beta14 is released.
Available for download from:
http://www.nilings.se/openvpn/
If nobody has any more feature requests this will probably be the last
version released of OpenVPN GUI 1.0, except for bugfixes.
I will now focus on the next version of OpenVPN GUI, which will use a
service to launch OpenVPN processes, which will allow a non-admin user to
use OpenVPN / OpenVPN GUI.
ChangeLog:
[v1.0-beta14 2004-08-24]
New Features:
Change password of the private key. Both PEM and PKCS #12 files
are supported.
[v1.0-beta13 2004-08-19]
New Features:
Shows which connections are connected in the TrayIcon tip msg
Bug Fixes:
The "Enter Passphrase" dialog was a bit miss-designed. The textlabel
and the editbox was overlapping a few pixels which made it look a
little strange in some occasions.
[v1.0-beta12 2004-08-16]
New Features:
Show a Status Window while connecting that shows the output from
OpenVPN in real-time.
A new menuitem to show the real-time status window.
If only one connection is running, dubbleclicking the trayicon will
show the status window for the running connection.
Show a yellow TrayIcon while connecting.
Detect "restarting process" message, and shows "Connecting" status
until a new connected msg is received.
