I guess I answered my own question by reading the Windows instructions
of all things. It seems that since there appears to be no TAP interface
for OSX/Darwin there is no way to do bridging. The guy who did the TUN
stuff has abandoned it for lack of time I assume so it's not looking
like anything will change any time soon. I'll ask around at Apple's
Developer conference next month.
