I think what the original questioner meant was, how can he restrict his
dialup interface from receiving traffic when he's connected to a machine at
work with OpenVPN?  His experience with other vpn products was that once
activated, they automatically shut other interfaces, denying any inbound
traffic except that through the vpn.  As a few of us pointed out, a firewall
would handle this not only for the duration of his vpn use but the rest of
the time as well, effectively securing the machine from worms and the like.
